HC reprimanded the petitioner in the ‘Jama Masjid’ case in Kalkaji area, said – do not misuse the platform
The controversy regarding illegal construction outside a mosque at Delhi’s Turkman Gate had not yet subsided when another similar case came to light. A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court regarding Jama Masjid and Madrasa Millat-ul-Islam in Kalkaji area of South Delhi. The issue of illegal construction outside the mosque at Turkman Gate was already much discussed and now questions are being raised regarding Kalkaji Jama Masjid. The court did not pass any order while hearing this matter. Date has been given for the next hearing on the matter. The court has asked the petitioner not to misuse the platform.
The High Court reprimanded during the hearing and said that you are filing such petitions every other day. Do not misuse the court platform like this. The High Court further said that you see only one problem in the form of encroachment in the society.
A petitioner named Preet Singh Sirohi has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, alleging that approximately one thousand square meters of Jama Masjid in Kalkaji has been built by occupying the road and footpath. The petition claims that this construction is not only illegal but is also an encroachment on public land.
A petition was filed in the court regarding these allegations. On which hearing was held on Wednesday (January 14). During this time the court has reprimanded the petitioner itself. Delhi High Court will next hear this petition on January 21. At present the court heard this case, but did not pass any order. The High Court told the petitioner that you do not see any other problem in the society. There are many problems like drinking water, for which you do not come to court. The court further said that we have to stop such misuse of the court platform.
The petition demands that the court direct PWD, DDA, MCD to immediately survey and demarcate the area near the mosque. Also, all illegal encroachment and construction on government land should be removed.
On this entire matter, General Secretary of the Mosque Committee, Shaukat Ali Mehdi, completely rejected all the allegations. He said that some people are deliberately making such allegations to create such an atmosphere and create controversy. Shaukat Ali Mehdi clearly said that the mosque and madrassa are completely legal and all the allegations against them are false.
