A minor dispute that started during a wedding ceremony in Badi Deoria village under Chinhat police station area of ​​the capital Lucknow has now reached police action. After serious allegations of molestation and assault, the police have taken preventive action against a total of 12 people from both the parties after investigation found the matter to be a mutual dispute.

According to the information received, complainant Mohammad Irfan had given an application to the Police Commissioner alleging that on the evening of April 16, Sahil, a resident of the same village, molested his daughter Nasra. Irfan alleged that when he protested, the accused used abusive language and threatened to kill him. Also, he had also claimed that his daughter was misbehaved and assaulted by Sahil and his friends during a wedding ceremony.

Police investigation and ground reality

The investigation of the case under IGRS was handed over to Sub-Inspector Sumitra Kumari. There was a change in the story after the police inspected the incident site and made inquiries at the local level. According to the police report, during investigation it was found that both the parties had gone to a wedding ceremony in the same village, where there was a heated argument and altercation between them over some issue. The police have clarified in their report that other serious allegations like molestation made by the applicant could not be confirmed on the spot.

In view of the prevailing tension between the two sides and the possibility of breach of peace in future, Chinhat Police has adopted a tough stance. Taking bilateral action under section 126/135 of BNSS, the police has challaned the following people:

First side: Mohammad Irfan, Aftab Ali, Furkan Ali, Reshma, Sukaiya and Kajal.

Second Party: Mohammad Rafiq, Asiya Bano, Rahishan Bano, Mohammad Arif, Sahil and Shabnam.
