The District Magistrate inaugurated the intensive Pulse Polio campaign by administering polio vaccine to a newborn child in primary school, Lodhi.

The Intensive Pulse Polio Campaign has started from June 28, 2026. In the same sequence, District Magistrate Charchal Gaur today formally inaugurated the Intensive Pulse Polio Campaign by giving two drops of polio vaccine to a newborn baby in the Anganwadi center of primary school, Lodhi.

On this occasion, District Magistrate Charchal Gaur said that polio is a serious disease, but two drops of polio given on time provide lifelong protection to children. He appealed to all the parents of the district to give polio vaccine to every child aged between 0 to 5 years, no matter how many times he has been given polio vaccine before. He said that no child should be deprived of this campaign. Appealed to all public representatives, village heads, Anganwadi workers, Asha sisters, teachers, voluntary organizations and media representatives to cooperate in taking the campaign to the people.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ramesh Kumar Mishra said that the objective of Pulse Polio campaign is to provide polio vaccine to every child of 0 to 5 years of age in the district. For this, extensive arrangements have been made for polio booths, transit booths and door-to-door visits in the district. He urged all the parents to bring their children to the nearest polio booth and if for some reason they are unable to reach the booth, then they should get the children vaccinated for polio by the health team that comes to their home.

A target has been set to administer polio vaccine to a total of 3,07,095 children in the district. For this, 1092 polio booths, 36 transit teams and 7 mobile teams have been formed. On Booth Day, polio doses will be administered to children aged 0 to 5 years from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

On this occasion, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ramesh Kumar Mishra, District Program Officer Vineet Kumar Singh Girdhari Lal, other officers and employees of the health department were present.
