The family protested by keeping the dead body at Kaptanganj police station and a case should be registered against the school sister.

Settlement. The family members of the victim protested after keeping the dead body at Kaptanganj police station in Basti district. The victim’s family alleged that no satisfactory action has been taken against the school vehicle driver. The victim’s family remained firm on their demand for satisfactory action. Seeing the matter escalating, Inspector-in-charge Alok Kumar Srivastava, after convincing the victim’s family, ended the protest and assured to take action after conducting a fair investigation.

Let us tell you that a speeding school vehicle hit an elderly person going home near the post office on the police station road in front of Kaptanganj police station. In the accident, Ramfer (50), son of Gauri Shankar, resident of Jasaipur village of Kaptanganj police station area, died on the spot. Upon receiving the information, the police took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem and started investigating the matter.

After the post-mortem today, the victim’s family reached the police station with the dead body and created a ruckus. The victim’s family told that when the vehicle has been taken into custody by the Kaptanganj Police, then why has a case been registered against the unknown vehicle. A case should be registered in the name of a known vehicle instead of an unknown vehicle. In the said case, when I tried to get information from CO Kalwari through phone, CO Kalwari’s phone went out of the network area.
