Manoj Yadav, general secretary of Forward Seamen Union of India, said that the union has established contact with some sailors, who have appealed for immediate rescue. He said that we have written two letters to PM Modi on this issue. Although some sailors have been safely brought back to India, many more are still stranded on ships in Iranian and Israeli waters. Yadav also expressed concern over the condition of the people on board the ships and said that they had only limited amount of luggage left. He said that there is now only about a month’s worth of food left on the ships, which is now becoming very scarce. Indian sailors aboard Iranian ships do not even know whether the attacks on them are from Iran or Israel. This development has come to light when the Indian LPG carrier Nanda Devi reached Vadinar port in Jamnagar, Gujarat a few days ago. The ship was carrying 46,500 metric tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas, which was to be transferred ship-to-ship at the anchorage.
