The future of dependent children in Punjab is secure, the government provided financial assistance of Rs 314 crore.
Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is making continuous efforts for the welfare of every section of the citizens, especially children. In this direction, the government has taken many concrete steps to ensure safe, respectable and all-round development of dependent and orphan children.
What did Baljeet Kaur say?
Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that the Punjab government has so far provided a total financial assistance of Rs 314.22 crore to the dependent and orphan children of the state. This initiative has not only provided financial security to thousands of children, but has also brought stability and self-reliance in their lives.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that under this scheme, regular financial assistance is being provided to 2,37,406 dependent and orphan children of the state. Its objective is to ensure that children have access to education and other vital resources, so that they can join the mainstream of society and move towards a secure and self-reliant future.
The minister also clarified that dependent and orphan children are not mere government statistics, but the collective responsibility of the society. He said that the Hon’ble Government is ensuring that no child is deprived of his education and dreams due to financial difficulties or neglect. The government stands with each child with sensitivity and responsibility.
Children below 21 years of age will get benefits
Dr. Baljeet Kaur further said that the benefit of this scheme will be available to those children who are below 21 years of age and whose parents are either absent or absent or are unable to take care of the family due to physical and mental disability. Through this, it is ensured that despite economic or family challenges, children are not deprived of opportunities for their education and development.
The minister also said that this initiative of the Mann government is not limited to financial help only. It reflects the state’s clear and firm commitment towards a safe, dignified and bright future for children. This scheme has not only improved their lifestyle, but has also given them an opportunity to get self-reliant and respectable place in the society.
