The game of drugs and terror network will end in Jammu and Kashmir Gujarati

New Delhi, 29th December 2025: Jammu and Kashmir Police has prepared a new master plan to root out cross-border drug smuggling and terrorist networks. Rajouri-Poonch Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Tajinder Singh had organized a high-level security meeting in Poonch, in which he has given strict instructions to strengthen ‘Human Intelligence’ (HUMINT).

  • Emphasis on new technology and beat system

DIG Tajinder Singh had told the officers that it is very important to increase the network of human interlocutors along with modern technology. He had given instructions to identify the structures and drug dealers supporting terrorists and continuously monitor them. Beat system was made effective at each police station level, receiving intelligence inputs from the local level. Direct communication with people and gathering details of criminally minded elements.

In this meeting, Poonch Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shafqat Hussain gave detailed information about the current security situation in the district and the preparations of the Special Operation Group (SOG). After the meeting, DIG Tajinder Singh and SSP Shafqat Hussain personally visited Kirni and Kasba villages near the Line of Control (LoC). Both the senior officials met the rural people and heard their problems.

SSP Shafqat Hussain assured the villagers that, “Poonch Police is always ready for the safety and needs of the people living in the border areas. All the complaints coming under the jurisdiction of the police will be resolved at the earliest.” The officials had appealed to the local people to cooperate with the police and security agencies to maintain peace and law and order in the border areas. Police believe that if local people remain alert and provide information, it will be easier to control drug mafias and anti-national elements.
