The Gentlemen Season 2: All new updates on release date, cast and plot details
The Gentlemen has become known as one of the world’s most extravagant and most anticipated crime dramas on global OTT platforms, directed by Guy Ritchie. It comes with an ignature style of razor-edge humour, episodic high-stakes suspense, and irreverent class clashes among the aristocratic Horniman family and the global cannabis empire they run. Viewers have been anticipating a thrilling Season 2 with even larger power plays, darker humour, more complex criminal entanglements, and many more shocking twists within the underbelly of Britain, building on the exciting highs of season one’s empire-building storyline.
The Regnet Gentlemen has officially been renewed for a second season of the program by NETFLIX as part of its 2026 content slate; an exact premiere date has yet to be determined for early 2026. However, it has been confirmed by NETFLIX that the second season of the show will have 8 episodes.
Filming for the second season commenced during the spring of 2025 and was completed in October of 2025 (it was ahead of schedule). As such, the current phase is POST PRODUCTION. Given the expected completion dates, the most likely timeframe for a release of the second season will be mid-to-late 2026. The lack of an established window means that timelines published will still remain speculation until an official launch announcement or trailer is made available.
The Gentlemen Season 2 Expected Cast
Returning to the show are the main cast members, including: Theo James as Eddie Horniman and Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass. Daniel Ings is back once more as Freddy Horniman. Several actors are also returning from season one, including Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley.
The cast for season two is increasing from season one considerably, as many new cast members were confirmed in 2025. Some of the new actors include: Hugh Bonneville, Maya Jama (in her first acting role), Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Contiand professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr. As you can see, the names of some of the new cast members lend themselves to the fact that there are many more criminal elements to the show than there were previously; this means there will be new rivalries, power structures, and global connections in the storyline of the show.
The Gentlemen Season 2 Potential Plot
Although Netflix has not released an official synopsis for Season 2, Season 2 takes place directly after Season 1, with Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass consolidating power as the new heads of the cannabis empire. In Season 2, the stakes are expected to be increased dramatically, as both characters become more ensconced in the criminal underworld while they continue to test the limits of their relationship as uneasy partners.
Early teases and production information indicate that the narrative will broaden to include international elements and an increased detail of complex power dynamics, moving beyond the confines of the English countryside. The themes of ambition, loyalty, class conflict, and greed will be magnified, yet still have the trademark elements of dark comedy, cutting-edge dialogue, and stylised violence, which give the franchise its unique flair.
Guy Ritchie will continue as the creative vision behind the project. Eran Creevy will return as a director, with Nick Rowland joining to direct at least one episode of the season. Rather than resetting the concept, Season 2 will be setting up the volatility and implications for the empire Eddie and Susie now have.
