The ghost of Bangladesh has gone, like Pakistan it is begging with a bowl, Mohammad Yunus bowed down

New Delhi: The situation in the country has deteriorated under the interim government of Bangladesh. Bangladesh repeatedly seeks assistance from various countries. Sometimes he demands potatoes from India, and sometimes he demands diesel. Recently, the Yunus government had demanded 22,000 tonnes of rice from Myanmar, while earlier India had also provided Basmati rice to Bangladesh.

This decision was approved

Moreover, despite tensions due to diplomatic and border dispute between India and Bangladesh, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has decided to import 130,000 metric tonnes of diesel from India's Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). This decision was approved in the meeting of the Board of Directors of BPC on 12 January 2025. Bangladesh is importing this from India at a time when it has been making many allegations against India.

4.6 million tonnes of diesel

According to BPC sources, this diesel will be imported from January to December and will cost approximately 1,137 crore Bangladeshi taka. This year BPC requires 7.4 million metric tons of refined fuel oil, of which 4.6 million tons is diesel, mostly imported directly. In addition, BPC regularly imports refined fuel oil from NRL, arriving by train since January 2016. Earlier, the interim government of Bangladesh had decided to import 50,000 tonnes of non-Basmati rice from India. Relations between India and Bangladesh have remained tense since the coup on 5 August 2024. The coup was followed by attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, which was strongly condemned by India. Moreover, the Yunus government is pressurizing India to send Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh.
