The Gilded Age Season 4: Release updates, cast details and story
The Gilded Age will be one of HBO’s most highly-anticipated period dramas. It beautifully depicts the opulence of 1880’s New York City high society as old money families and new industrialists compete against one another for power. Audiences can’t wait for Season 4 to unfold, where they will witness the opulence, excitement, challenges, and changing relationships of the people involved in their respective journeys, all set against the backdrop of the time’s excesses and the dramatic events that have transpired throughout Season 3 (2025).
The Gilded Age, an English drama series created by Julian Fellowes, will return for season four. HBO made this announcement shortly before Season 3’s finale aired in July 2025 due to a rise in both viewership and critical acclaim towards the show.
It has been officially confirmed that the Gilded Age has been renewed by HBO for a second season in July 2025. Production is currently taking place.
Filming of season four was originally scheduled to start on February 23, 2026, in New York, but was delayed by a snowstorm. Early March 2026 saw filming resuming again.
There has not yet been an announced premiere date.
HBO included The Gilded Age in its promotional material for the programming schedule of 2026, which also included titles such as House of the Dragon and Euphoria, signifying a return of the series at some point in 2026.
There appear to be 18-month gaps or thereabouts between the season being completed and being aired, largely due to the impact of strikes on the film industry. Therefore, both late 2026 or early 2027 appear to be realistic possibilities, but updates currently suggest that the goal is still 2026.

All that she has built must now be examined and reconciled by her family and the newfound dynasty of Agnes van Rhijn, who will do anything necessary to regain her position of strength.
