In such a situation, to bid farewell to the past year and welcome the new year, people party heavily on the night of 31st December. In such a situation, the government has made such a rule that people who drink alcohol are in trouble. This rule has been made by Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara. After making this rule, all the alcohol drinkers will drink heavily on the night of 31st December.

Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara made the announcement on Wednesday saying that the state government has safely transported drunk people to their homes during New Year celebrations. Special care will be taken of those who are unconscious or unable to walk. Dr. Parmeshwar said that we cannot take everyone home, but those who are in extreme intoxication will be picked up and made to sit at a safe place. 15 special centers have been prepared across the state. In these centres, there will be facility to rest till the intoxication subsides and after that they will be sent to their homes.

Home Minister Parameshwara said that drug related incidents are mainly seen during New Year celebrations. Especially in big cities like Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hubballi, Belagavi and Mangaluru. Due to the fun of people coming from outside, special vigilance will be taken in all these cities. Strict instructions have also been issued to bar and pub owners. The Home Minister has paid special attention to women’s safety. He said that it is important to be cautious about the safety of women. Some women may become helpless due to intoxication and someone may abuse the situation. Therefore all 30 districts have been put on alert.
