News India Live, Digital Desk: Today is the evening of 31st December 2025, which we are writing as the last page in our diary. As the redness of the sun is decreasing outside the window, a bunch of memories are floating in the heart and a glow of new hopes is floating on the face. This is the last sunset of 2025. While we are still waiting for the sun to set and are busy making arrangements for the night party, in one corner of the world the first morning of the year 2026 has knocked. New Zealand was the first to see 2026. According to Indian time, when our evening was about to set, the beautiful island country of the Pacific Ocean, New Zealand, welcomed the New Year 2026 with open arms. The view of Auckland was a sight to behold today. Spectacular fireworks from the iconic Sky Tower in the heart of the city transformed the darkness of the night into the light of day. People are hugging each other in the streets and saying ‘Happy New Year’, and this echo of celebration is slowly spreading across the continent. Last Sunset: A Moment to Stop and Remember This last sunset of 2025 is not just an astronomical event. It is a witness to all the joys, difficulties, victories and defeats that we have lived through in the last 365 days. This evening tells us that in every end there is a new beginning hidden. When the first needles of the year 2026 moved in countries like New Zealand and Australia, the whole world is now standing in the same queue behind them. Auckland’s fireworks captivated the mind. The celebration of New Year’s Eve in Auckland is always special. Thousands of people gathered along the Harbor Bridge and the sound of fireworks filled the air with excitement. As the clock struck 12 midnight, not only New Zealand but the entire world got the message – 2026 is here! Sydney’s Opera House is also standing ready to be bathed in lights, and within a few moments there will be a wave of celebration there too. Now India is waiting for its turn. It is now 5.30 in the evening in India. Somewhere people are preparing for get-togethers with friends, while somewhere people are sitting with family and discussing the sweet and sour things of the past year. When we see the happiness of countries like Auckland and Fiji on the TV screen, a curiosity arises in our mind that after a few hours we too will be in the arms of 2026.
