Kerala High Court while giving instructions said that there will be an interim stay on the public release of the film for 13 days. This film was to be released on 27 February. But a day before, the High Court has banned the film.

A hearing was also held in the court on Wednesday to stop the release of the film. The hearing was conducted by a single judge bench of Justice Bechu Kurien. The court had heard the arguments of all the parties. During this, there was a heated debate between the petitioner, the film makers and the government.

Before the release of the film The Kerala Story 2, the makers held a press conference in Delhi on 23 February. In which the victims and their families from all over the country came together. 49 victims and their family members came on the stage. Organizers had said that survivors and their families had shared their stories.

‘The Kerala Story’ did good business at the box office

Before this, The Kerala Story was released in the year 2023. This Adaa Sharma starrer film was liked very much by the audience. Based on a true incident, this film also earned a lot at the box office. The film did a business of more than Rs 300 crore at the box office. Apart from this, the film also got good response on OTT.
