Yes, 27 year old mother Riho Maruyama told PEOPLE magazine about a very sweet and funny incident. Her 2 year old daughter Hinami did something that made both her and her husband burst into laughter. Riho and her husband Kelly ‘Iholo’ Ochoa Maruyama, also 27, live in Utah. Both of them became parents while in college.

One day after having dinner, about 15 minutes passed. Suddenly there was a very strange kind of peace in the house. Children usually keep making noise, but Hinami was completely silent. Due to this Riho started getting a little worried. Riho told, ‘I started getting scared that Hinami might be getting into my makeup, or might be messing up the bathroom stuff’ because Hinami loves opening drawers, touching makeup, taking out towels.

What happened that you lost your senses?

She was thinking that perhaps there might have been a big mess in the bathroom today. Riho and her husband were cleaning and completing some work. Then Riho thought let’s see what Hinami is doing. When she opened the bathroom door, she was completely unprepared for what she saw. Their lovely 2 year old daughter Hinami was fast asleep with her head resting on the toilet seat. Her mouth was slightly open and she was sleeping completely comfortably.

A girl of about 3 years was lying on the lid of the toilet as if it was a comfortable bed. Riho immediately called her husband. Seeing this, both of them started laughing loudly. Riho says, ‘We just laughed and said, ‘Wow, this is really like the Maruyama family because both of us can sleep anywhere at any time.’ He further told that Hinami has slept many times before in strange places, like on the floor or in a corner. So it was not new to them, but still they found it very funny. Riho called it a very funny and funny moment. He also shared the video of this moment on Instagram, in which Hinami is seen sleeping on the toilet.

What is the special reason for this happening?

All this happened because Hinami was recently learning potty training. In December, around Christmas, they started teaching Hinami to use the potty. Riho says that the training went very well. Hinami quickly understood and was excited about it from the beginning. They did several things to make it fun: Gave Hinami her own potty seat, which also doubles as a stool. With this she can climb up and down herself. Gave her her favorite Moana panties. Every time she went potty properly, everyone would celebrate and praise her.

Riho told that Hinami loved independence from the beginning because they became parents while studying in college, so Hinami soon had to learn to do many things on her own like holding the bottle, playing alone, falling asleep on her own. This increased his confidence a lot. Going to the potty on her own felt very empowering for her. Riho advises other parents to never make potty training strict or difficult. “Keep it light and fun,” he said. Celebrate small successes. There will be some glitches, be prepared for them.
