Issue of deaths due to codeine cough syrup raised in Lok Sabha, huge uproar, proceedings adjourned till 12 noon

New Delhi. Today is the last day of the first half of the ongoing Budget Session of Parliament. The proceedings of the last day also started in a storm in the Lok Sabha. Question Hour could not be held in the Lok Sabha due to the uproar. Congress MP Ujjwal Raman Singh raised the issue of deaths due to Codeine Cough Syrup. JP Nadda answered this question during the question hour. After JP Nadda’s reply, there was a huge uproar and the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 12 noon. Sandhya Rai was on the seat.

As soon as the Lok Sabha proceedings began, Presiding Sandhya Rai informed the House about the demise of former member Dr. Bhagwan Das Rathore. Tributes were paid to Bhagwan Das Rathore in the House and silence was observed. The presiding officer expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
