The journey which earlier took 5 to 6 hours, will now be completed in just 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours.

Asia’s largest ‘elevated wildlife corridor’

The biggest feature of this expressway is its engineering. This is the first expressway in Asia in which a 12 km long elevated wildlife corridor has been built. This corridor passes over Rajaji National Park, so that there will be no hindrance in the movement of wild animals living below. The government has used this high-tech technology to strike a balance between development and environment, which makes it one of the best highways in the world.

Speed of 120 and strong security arrangements

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway has been designed in such a way that vehicles can run at a speed of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour. For the safety of passengers, CCTV cameras, emergency calling stations and modern traffic control systems have been installed on the entire route. This expressway will not only save time but will also reduce fuel consumption, thereby reducing pollution. With its launch, connectivity between Delhi, UP and Uttarakhand has got a new dimension.

These cities will get direct benefits

This expressway will start from Akshardham in Delhi and reach Dehradun via Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli and Saharanpur. Its construction will boost economic activities in these cities of Uttar Pradesh. Transportation of goods will become easier for traders and the tourism sector is also expected to see a huge boom. A separate link road has also been provided for the passengers going to Haridwar, due to which the journey from Delhi to Haridwar can be completed in a very short time.

Tourism and economy will get a new flight

Prime Minister Modi has described this project as the ‘new lifeline of development’. This expressway will prove to be a boon for the devotees going on Dehradun as well as Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Chardham Yatra. Due to better connectivity, new employment opportunities will be created in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand and the hotel industry will also get big benefits. This expressway is a wonderful example of India’s modern transportation system.
