Akshay Kumar’s real name is Rajeev Hariom Bhatia. He started his career with the film ‘Aaj’ (Aaj) in the year 1987. His character in this film was only for 15 seconds, in which he played the role of a martial arts instructor. Interestingly, the name of the character of the lead actor Kumar Gaurav of this film was ‘Akshay’. Rajeev Bhatia liked this name so much that he went to the court and changed his name to ‘Akshay Kumar’ without any astrological advice.

Received first award after a long wait of 10 years

Akshay Kumar started his innings as a lead hero in the film ‘Saugandh’ in 1991, but he had to wait for 10 long years for his first big achievement.
