Pulses and rice not cooked in lawyers’ canteen in Delhi HC, LPG cylinder supply affected; Foods made without gas are being served.
Today (11 March) the main course food could not be prepared in the lawyers’ canteen of Delhi High Court due to shortage of gas cylinders. The canteen management said that at present they do not have LPG cylinders available, hence the main course will not be served today. It has been said from the canteen that it is not yet clear as to when the gas supply will be restored. As soon as LPG cylinders are available, preparation for the main course will be resumed.
Canteen management expressed hope of soon supply
Because of this, lawyers and other people coming to the canteen today will have to do without the main course. The canteen management has expressed hope that the gas supply will start soon, after which the entire food system will become normal.
‘We tried many places’
Mohar Singh, manager of the lawyers’ canteen in the Delhi High Court, said, “Since the gas did not come, we have stopped the item. We have stopped the lunch item. Break fast is going on. In the lunch, dal-rice, kadhi-rice, rajma-rice, chickpea-rice, chicken, biryani, all these have been stopped. Gas is not coming from the front. We tried at many places but the gas did not come.”
What is currently available in the canteen?
On the question of when the cylinder is expected to arrive, he said, “There is no idea. About a thousand lawyers used to have lunch here every day. Right now we are serving things like cheese salad, chicken salad, sandwiches. The things which are made without gas are being served.” It is noteworthy that due to the war situation in the Middle East, the supply of commercial LPG cylinders in the country is affected. The government says that there is no shortage of fuel in the country.
