The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4: Release date news, cast details and plot – Everything you need to know
The Legend of Vox Machina is expected to be one of the most talked-about adult-animated series in the world of fantasy entertainment and is based on Dungeons & Dragons. The show is filled with comedy, emotion, adventure, and a return to the characters of Vox Machina after the events of the Chroma Conclave arc in Seasons 2 and 3.
The series will debut soon, with the first three episodes being released every week thereafter. All the main cast will return to their respective characters. One year after the incidents involving the dragons, the heroes are all scattered as they search for new families, homes, and lives. However, they will come together to face a deeper evil reawakening within Exandria.
Based on the beloved Critical Role campaign. Here’s a comprehensive overview of the latest details as of March 2026.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4: Release Date News
On June 3, 2026, we can finally get our long-awaited Season 4, which will be available only on Prime Video. Just like in seasons 1–3, there will be a weekly release of three episodes each (so there will be one full week between when you watch the first three episodes and when you see the last three). Therefore, it will take several weeks for you to see everything from season 4 and help create excitement through the @CriticalRole characters’ unique blend of action, comedy, and drama.
Also, there is already official confirmation from CR that Vox Machina will return for a FIFTH and FINAL SEASON (which was revealed back in 2025) and conclude the group’s storyline.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4: Cast Details
The voice cast remains the core Critical Role ensemble, reprising their iconic roles:
- Laura Bailey as Vex’ahlia “Vex” Vessar (half-elf ranger)
- Jaffe of Talies as Percival “Percy” de Rolo (human gunslinger/inventor)
- Ashley Johnson as Pike Trickfoot (gnome cleric)
- Matthew Mercer as various characters, including Trinket (Vex’s bear companion) and others
- Liam O’Brien as Vax’ildan “Vax” Vessar (half-elf rogue)
- Marisha Ray as Keyleth (half-elf druid)
- Sam Riegel as Scanlan Shorthalt (gnome bard) and others
- Travis Willingham as Grog Strongjaw (goliath barbarian)
The main cast is expected to return fully, with the same voice actors from previous seasons handling their characters. Guest stars and additional voices may appear, consistent with the show’s style.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4: Plot Details
After a time jump of almost 12 months from the conclusion of the Chroma Conclave arc (Seasons 2-3), Vox Machina has separated, and each member is currently pursuing their own journey, looking for love, family, purpose, and personal growth after battling numerous dangers over the previous seasons.
However, the return of a significant antagonist will force the group to come back together again to combat another apocalyptic threat. The teasers for Season Four have hinted at some kind of eerie evil coming from the mix of spooky announcement photos and references made about the possible inclusion of Taryon Darrington (and his tie to the original campaign in which he joins the party for a brief time).
The show continues to provide the adult animated action adventure genre, while delivering a high-stakes fantasy adventure experience filled with irreverent humor, dramatic emotional moments, and large-scale conflict in an exotic setting within Exandria. The dysfunctional team will inevitably encounter new enemies while managing their personal trials and tribulations.
All three prior seasons are available for viewing on Prime Video, and remain at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes for adaptively executing the remaining aspects of the Critical Role’s Campaign 1 storyline; having visually stunning animation (Titmouse), and containing memorable and substantial character moments.
So be sure to check out Vox Machina’s return on June 3rd!
