The look of New Delhi Railway Station will change, it will feel like Dubai; RLDA made a strong plan – Read
Very soon you will get to see the look of a modern railway station at New Delhi Railway Station. Large-scale preparations are underway to develop New Delhi as one of the largest and most modern railway stations in the country. According to information received by TV9 Bharatvarsh, RLDA, the company that redevelops the stations of Indian Railways, has given the contract for Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) towards Paharganj station, an important part of the New Delhi Railway Station Redevelopment Project.
The best example of multimodal transport system can be seen at New Delhi Railway Station. First of all, the parking area near New Delhi Railway Station is being developed on a large scale. For this, a multi-storey parking system is being developed, in which the railway station will be connected with the city bus service on the ground floor. The advantage of this will be that the passengers coming to the station by bus will get great relief. Car and auto parking has been provided on 5 floors of the building. Its 9 floors will be used for railway offices. The construction of this MMTH will be completed in two years.
Working without stopping the train is a big challenge
According to railway sources, the biggest challenge of this plan is how to keep the movement of trains uninterrupted for the construction of the main station building including air concourse and elevated road network. For this, the entire plan has been reviewed, so that the traveling people face minimum inconvenience. New Delhi Railway Station is one of the busiest railway stations of Delhi. This is the reason why the entire plan is being worked on keeping passenger facilities in mind.
Covered station will also get full lighting
New Delhi Rewal station will be completely covered. In such a situation, the concourse above the track will be one storey. It has been designed in such a way that the roof provides adequate lighting during the day. Along with this, the station is being built in such a way that the city is not divided into two parts due to the railway station, but people can move from one side to the other.
So that the station can be easily reached
There is a main access point from two sides at New Delhi Railway Station. One of them is Ajmeri Gate and the other is Paharganj. There is often a traffic jam on both these routes. To deal with this, an elevated road network is being developed around the station. This will reduce congestion in the market Connaught Place near the railway station.
work has started
According to the information received from the Railways, in view of the pending New Delhi redevelopment work on the State Entry Road, some railway properties are being demolished. According to the information, large scale construction work will take place in the station and its surrounding areas. For this, some buildings are being demolished.
