The MLA whose son was accused of being crushed by a Thar has now started harassing the SDPO.

A road accident that took place on April 16 in Karera in Shivpuri district has now taken a very big shape politically. Dinesh Lodhi, son of BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi, is accused of crushing five people with a speeding Thar SUV. The biggest thing is that earlier the MLAs were talking about justice, but now they are openly threatening the police officers.

On April 16, at around 7:30 am, Sanjay Parihar, Ashish Parihar and Anshul Parihar were going to the tehsil office in Karera on a motorcycle. Sita Verma and Pooja Soni were walking ahead of them on the road. It is alleged that Dinesh Lodhi drove a black Thar at high speed and first hit the two women and then crushed the motorcycle. All five people were injured.

MLA’s U-turn

Immediately after the accident, MLA Pritam Lodhi had written on Facebook – ‘For the MLA, it is not the son or the family that comes first, but the public first. The police should provide justice to the victims of Carrera. People were considering it a good step but after a few days everything changed.

The MLA attacked Karera SDOP Ayush Jakhar. He said, ‘SDOP of Karera has warned my son not to be seen here again. I ask, is the Carrera your dad’s? My son will come to Karera and will also contest elections. If your ‘daddy’ has the courage then stop him.

The MLA further said, ‘We will not tolerate if false allegations are made, pressure is applied or there is a biased investigation. We will respond. Such officers should remain within their limits.

Shameless attitude of son

When Dinesh Lodhi was called to the police station, he reached the same Thar vehicle which had caused the accident. There was no number plate on the vehicle, there was a black film and a hooter was also installed. Police issued challan for these violations.

During interrogation, Dinesh said that he repeatedly blew the horn and siren but the person in front did not give way due to which the accident occurred while overtaking.

The injured people say that neither the MLA nor his son came after the accident. One victim said, ‘No one even came to inquire about our condition.’

Dinesh Lodhi has been associated with controversies in the past also. A case of threatening someone in 2023, and an allegation of trying to run over neighbors with a car in Gwalior in 2024 and going to jail. He has also been accused of extortion.

MLA Pritam Lodhi also has several criminal cases dating back decades – cases of rioting, assault, murder and attempt to murder. He was expelled from the party in 2022 over controversial statements, later withdrawn before the elections.

MLA’s defense

Pritam Lodhi says that he himself talked to the SP, lodged an FIR, sent the car to the police station and sent his son for questioning. But it is clear from the attitude of the victims and the police that the matter has now become a political and administrative conflict.
