Damian Lillard hasn’t played a minute of NBA basketball this season as he’s recovering from a torn achilles in last season’s playoffs, but that didn’t stop him from making some history.
Lillard donned the Portland Trail Blazers jersey in a competitive environment for the first time since 2023 to become just the third player to win three NBA Three-Point Contests. The 35 year old veteran isn’t expected to play for the Blazers this year, but that didn’t stop him from edging out Phoenix’s Devin Booker 29-27 in the final.
“I came in confident, I came in fresh,” Lillard said after the win. “I think just having this year away, my body and mind (are) just fresh. So I came out there excited to do it.”
