‘The path of dialogue should not be completely closed’, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Pakistan

Tezzbuzz Desk- Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has made important comments regarding Pakistan and said that the possibilities of dialogue between the two countries should not be completely eliminated. However, he clarified that the Sangh’s stand regarding Pakistan will remain the same which will be in line with the official policy of the Government of India.

In a dialogue session organized under the centenary year program of RSS, Mohan Bhagwat supported the statement of senior RSS functionary Dattatreya Hosabale, in which he talked about keeping the avenues of dialogue open with Pakistan. Bhagwat said that that statement needs to be understood in the right context, because it was not meant for the government of Pakistan, but for the common people there.

He said that even today there are people in Pakistan who do not consider the partition of India right and advocate better relations between the two countries. According to him, there is a section in Pakistan which does not agree with the two-nation theory and talks about peaceful co-existence of the two countries.

Mohan Bhagwat said that if circumstances change in future, it may be useful to maintain dialogue with the citizens of Pakistan. In this context, he said that India’s approach is not based on the spirit of vengeance. He said, “We are not like Hitler. It is necessary to oppose injustice and oppression, but the positive elements should also be preserved.”

The Sangh chief reiterated that it is the right of the government to decide foreign policy and the RSS will take the same stand towards any country as the Government of India decides.
