Vikram Sah, a Jhalmuri seller from Jhargram who suddenly grabbed headlines by selling Jhalmuri to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the West Bengal Assembly elections last month, is continuously receiving death threats from Pakistan and Bangladesh. Sah himself has made such a claim.
According to Vikram Sah, for the last few days he has been receiving daily threats from unknown international numbers. Sahu said that he is worried about himself and his family.
He told the media, ‘I am receiving repeated death threats through videos and phone calls from Pakistan and Bangladesh. They are threatening to bomb me. The people who are video calling me are making scary gestures and even showing weapons to scare me, and they have warned me that I will have to face serious consequences.
Sah said, “The callers first offer religious greetings and then threaten to kill me. They ask me – ‘Are you alive or dead?’ I have also received messages on WhatsApp in which it is written that ‘You will be killed in a bomb blast.’
It is noteworthy that on April 19, during the election campaign in Bengal, PM Modi had stayed for some time at Vikram Sah’s Jhalmuri shop. In the video shared by him on Twitter, PM Modi can be seen asking the shopkeeper to have Jhalmuri ready. When he offered to give the money, shopkeeper Vikram initially refused, but on insisting he took the money.

Jhalmuri is actually a mixture of puffed rice, usually made with chilli, onion and mustard oil. After PM Modi’s pause for some time, Vikram suddenly came into limelight. However, he clarified that the caller who threatened him did not say anything about his association with the Prime Minister, but these calls started coming only after PM Modi stopped talking.
Police started investigating the case, Vikram got security cover along with his family.
Meanwhile, Vikram Sah has been given security cover, in which policemen are protecting him and his family. Officials said that the police have also started investigating this matter.
