He said that consumers are upset with the vertical system. The number of electrical accidents has increased. The 1912 helpline has become a mere formality. Consumer complaints are not being resolved in a timely and effective manner. This time the peak demand in summer is going to be between 32000 MW to 33000 MW. Said, there are about 3.72 crore electricity consumers in the state. The total sanctioned load is approximately more than 8 crore KW, while the available capacity of 132 KV sub-stations is approximately 6 crore KW. In such a situation, controlling the difference of two crore kilowatts is a big challenge. He said there is still time. Power Corporation should stop experimental changes in power companies and focus on practical and consumer centric system.

Conspiracy to tarnish the image of the government

He said that if the power system fails in future, the entire responsibility for it will be on some selected top officials, who want to tarnish the image of the government by putting consumers in trouble. The Council has urged the State Government to seriously assess the actual situation of the power system and take necessary corrective steps before the start of summer. If consumers face problems then strict action should be taken against the concerned authorities.
