New Delhi. Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, the common people of the country got a huge shock of inflation on Saturday. The price of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 60, while the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has increased by about Rs 115. Talking about Lucknow, the capital of UP, the price of domestic gas cylinder here has increased from Rs 890 to Rs 950 after being increased by Rs 60. The new prices have come into effect from today and have also been updated on the Indian Oil website.

Let us tell you that changes in LPG prices come into effect on the first day of every month in the country. Oil companies had given a new blow by increasing the prices of commercial gas cylinders on the first of March. The only matter of relief is that there was no change in the prices of domestic cylinders at present, but on the seventh day, the price of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder has been given a big shock by increasing the price by Rs 60. Let us tell you that there was no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders after 8 April 2025. This is a big increase after about 11 months.

On the first of March, the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders was increased by Rs 28. Now on Saturday, March 7, an increase of Rs 115 has been made. Thus, within seven days the prices of Commercial Gas Cylinders have increased by Rs 143. From today, March 7, 2026, the price of commercial gas cylinder has increased by about Rs 115. The price of domestic LPG cylinder (14.2 kg) has also increased by Rs 60, which is effective with immediate effect.

Due to this, gas prices increased

Domestic cylinder prices have increased after the ongoing military tension in West Asia and the impact on the supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) imported through the Strait of Hormuz. The supply of LNG through Hormuz has stopped since February 28.

This has temporarily affected about 20 percent of global LNG supplies and raised concerns in Asian import markets. A major part of India’s LNG supply comes from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) via the Strait of Hormuz.
