New Delhi: The problem of people traveling by trains not getting confirmed tickets can be reduced to some extent. Railways is continuously making efforts for this. In this direction, Railways has claimed that it has installed 583 General Class (GS) coaches in various trains in the last three months. By November, more than one thousand general class coaches will be installed in 370 trains. With the addition of so many coaches, about one lakh passengers will benefit every day. Railway Board Executive Director (Information and Propagation) Dilip Kumar said that apart from these, Railways is also working rapidly on the plan to include a large number of non-AC class coaches in the railway fleet in the next two years.

He said that a plan was made to add a total of 1000 new GS class coaches to the trains during the four months from July to October. 583 general category coaches have been added to it. The work of making the remaining coaches is being done at a rapid pace. He also informed that there is a plan to install more than 10 thousand non-AC coaches in various trains in the next two years. Work is being done on this also.

10 thousand coaches will be included

In the next two years, more than 10 thousand such non-air conditioned general class GS coaches will be included in the railway fleet. There will be more than six thousand GS coaches among these. The remaining coaches will be sleeper class.

8 lakh additional passengers will be able to travel

With the inclusion of such a large number of non-AC coaches, about eight lakh additional passengers of general class will be able to travel by rail daily. All these 10 thousand coaches are of LHB category. Which is compatible with modern safety standards.
