Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana said that the Privileges Committee of the Assembly has a very important place in the democratic system. This committee is a powerful medium to protect the dignity, rights and dignity of the legislature.
Addressing the inaugural meeting of the Privileges Committee, he made it clear that the Privileges Committee should discharge its responsibilities with complete formality and constitutional decorum, so that no misunderstanding or unnecessary dispute arises.
Shri Mahana told the committee members that no one has any objection to the work of the committee, but it is necessary that all the public representatives and concerned parties exercise their rights within a prescribed limit. In democracy, along with rights, responsibilities also have equal importance. He also said that any institution or person should avoid such language or conduct which brings into question the reputation of the House. The Speaker of the Assembly said that we all are accountable to the public. It is our primary responsibility to live up to the expectations with which the public has elected the public representatives.

He appealed to all the members of the committee to work with restraint, patience and dignity. Before this, the committee members welcomed the Assembly Speaker by giving him a robe and a bouquet. On this occasion, Principal Secretary Assembly Pradeep Kumar Dubey and other officers and employees were present.
