‘Racial and sexual harassment of Gorakhpur AIIMS doctor, resident of Nagaland, is very shameful…’ Meghalaya CM demands strict action

Gorakhpur AIIMS woman doctor molested : A case of molestation of a Gorakhpur AIIMS doctor, resident of Nagaland, came to light on the night of 22 February. During this, racial remarks were also made against the female doctor from the North-East. After which the North East Federation of All India Resident Doctors (Naford) had asked to write a letter to the Chief Minister’s Office, ADG Law and Order and Director of AIIMS. Now Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma has demanded strict action in this matter.

Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma wrote in A civilized country should not tolerate tampering with the honor of any woman. They are your sisters and daughters. Appeal to the authorities to take strict action against the goons.”

The miscreants kept chasing for one and a half kilometer

On February 22, at around 8 pm, a female doctor of Gorakhpur AIIMS, resident of Nagaland, was returning from Orion Mall in the city. During this time, three people chased the female doctor for about one and a half kilometres, molested her and also bad-touched her. Kept making dirty comments while chasing. A young man took off his shirt, scaring the lady doctor. When the young man reached near Gate No. 2 of AIIMS, he touched the lady doctor badly. The accused ran away when the victim screamed. The incident took place on February 22 at 8 pm.

After reaching the campus, the victim had complained about this to the North East Federation of All India Resident Doctors (Naford). After which Naford Ames had posted on the X handle tagging the Chief Minister’s Office. The next morning of the incident, Naford President Dr. Devesh Dubey had said that taking cognizance of this matter, he will send a letter to all three places, CM Office, ADG Law and Order and Director of AIIMS. On the complaint of the doctor, an FIR has been registered in AIIMS police station under appropriate sections. The search for the accused is on. A bike has also been identified through CCTV footage.
