The radiant beauty of Olympic champion Alysa Liu
Born in California in August 2005, the 1.58-meter-tall figure skater was raised by her single father of Chinese descent, alongside four younger siblings, all born via surrogacy, according to People.
Liu began skating at age five and made history at 13 as the youngest-ever U.S. National Champion.
U.S. media dubbed her the “Ice Angel.”
Her path to current glory was once interrupted. Following a sixth-place finish at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Liu abruptly announced her retirement at just 16 years old.
In an Instagram post at the time, she expressed satisfaction with her career and a readiness to move on. Reports suggested she felt immense pressure and exhaustion, yearning for the normal life she had sacrificed for the sport.
