During this period he bowled 18 maiden overs. And took 1 wicket for 137 runs. This was the longest bowling spell by any bowler in a Test match without a break. Narendra Hirwani's international cricket career lasted for 8 years (1988–96). In which he played 17 Test and 18 ODI matches for India. Hirwani took 66 wickets in Test cricket at an average of 30.10. In ODI, Hirwani took 23 wickets at an average of 31.26. But due to his poor performance, Hirwani's international career could not last long. Hirwani's son Mihir is also a leg spinner. 30 year old Mihir Hirwani has played 31 first class, 23 List-A and 24 T20 matches so far.
