Impact of Bangladesh’s instability
After the departure of Sheikh Hasina government, there are reports of attacks on minorities and anarchy in Bangladesh. Due to this, the possibility of infiltration and other threats on the Indian border has increased. Tripura shares an 856 km long border with Bangladesh, which is surrounded on three sides. A large part of this border is still unfenced, due to which there remains a risk of smuggling and cross-border crime.
Preparation and morale of soldiers
During the visit, Lieutenant General Tiwari interacted with the soldiers deployed on the border and appreciated their promptness. He said that the determination and high preparedness of the soldiers is enough to deal with any situation. The morale of the soldiers has further increased due to this visit. The army has taken all necessary steps so that peace and security is maintained.
Keeping an eye on the state and central government, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that the central government is keeping a close eye on the situation in Bangladesh. The state government is sending reports regularly. This visit is a clear message from India that we are fully prepared to protect our borders.
