The smoke of stubble reaches Delhi but the hard work of the farmers gathering dust with grains in the markets is not seen: Vinesh Phogata

New Delhi. Congress MLA from Haryana and former female wrestler Vinesh Phogata has cornered the Modi government over the condition of farmers. He said, the smoke of stubble would have reached Delhi but no one sees the right to the hard work of the farmers gathering dust along with the grains in the markets. He said, farmers are not just a part of our agricultural system, but are the backbone of the country. They should get the respect and support they deserve.

Vinesh Phogat wrote on social media X, it is really sad that farmers are struggling in their own country today. On one hand, the smoke from the crop stubble grown with their hard work reaches Delhi, which the government and media exaggerate. But the farmers gathering dust with their grains in the markets, their destruction, their pain and the rights of their hard work are neither visible through satellite nor do they get prominence in the media. Why does our country's food provider feel neglected at every step?

It is ironical that on one hand the Prime Minister and the Agriculture Minister have made these claims dozens of times that 'MSP was continuing, is continuing and will continue', while on the other hand the condition of the mandis and the voice of the farmers are being ignored. Why is no concrete arrangement being made to provide MSP to farmers' produce? Farmers are not just a part of our agricultural system but are the backbone of the country. They should get the respect and support they deserve.
