The tension of going home on Holi is over, Railways runs 21 new special trains for Bihar, see the complete schedule
Indian Railways has given a big gift to lakhs of passengers preparing to return home on the festival of Holi. The problem of huge crowd in trains, waiting list and non-availability of tickets troubles us every year during the festive season, but this time Danapur division has already geared up. It has been decided to run a total of 21 Holi special trains from Patna Junction, Patliputra and other stations of the division, which will make travel between different states easy and comfortable. This news is a relief especially for those migrant labourers, students and employees who stay away due to work or studies in other states. These special trains will be cheap, convenient and timely.
Complete list and timetable of Holi special trains
Train number 08439 will run between Puri and Patna every Saturday from 28 February to 28 March.
Train number 08440 will depart from Patna to Puri every Sunday from March 1 to March 29.
Train number 08861 will run from Gondia to Patna on March 2 and train number 08862 will run from Patna to Gondia on March 3.
Train number 03293 will provide daily service between Patna and New Delhi from March 5 to March 15, 2026.
Train number 03294 will run daily between New Delhi and Patna from March 6 to March 16, 2026.
Train number 03253 will run between Patna and Charlapalli every Monday and Wednesday from March 9 to March 30, 2026.
Train number 03254 will operate between Charlapalli and Patna every Wednesday from March 11 to April 1, 2026.
Train number 03255 will run between Charlapalli and Patna every Friday from 13 March to 3 April 2026.
Train number 02397 will leave from Sheikhpura to Anand Vihar Terminal every Sunday from March 8 to March 15, 2026. Train number 02398 will run from Anand Vihar to Sheikhpura every Monday from March 9 to March 16.
Passenger convenience ensured at major stations
Senior DCM of Danapur division Abhinav Siddharth said that apart from Holi special trains, special arrangements have been made at important stations of the division. Complete care will be taken of the convenience of passengers at stations like Dildarnagar, Buxar, Arrah, Danapur, Patna, Patliputra, Jehanabad, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Kiul and Jhajha. He said that with the Holi special trains, the journey from Dildarnagar to Jhajha in major stations of the division will now become more comfortable. Railways has decided to take special care of thousands of passengers traveling to and from stations like Buxar, Arrah, Danapur, Patna, Patliputra, Jehanabad, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Kiul and Jhajha. Instructions have been given to supervisors of all other departments including Railway Protection Force.
