A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district, where a Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV suddenly caught fire. The incident took place near Kurana Toll Plaza in Hapur when the car was going from Bulandshahr to Hapur. The car is reported to have registration number UP 13 U 7555 and was driven by Aman Kharbanda. Seeing the sudden smoke coming from the car, the driver cautiously stopped the car on the side of the road and immediately got out to save his life. Within seconds the smoke turned into fire and the entire car was engulfed in flames.

What exactly caused the fire?
Currently, the exact cause of the Mahindra BE6 fire is unknown. Initially, this reason is being linked to short circuit. The company is yet to issue an official statement on the incident. However, this is the first time the Mahindra BE6 has caught fire. The incident has once again raised questions about the safety of electric vehicles.

Mahindra BE 6 Price and Range
The Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV was launched by the company in November 2024 in the Indian market. The car starts at Rs 18.90 lakh ex-showroom, while the top variant goes up to Rs 27.65 lakh.
This electric SUV is available in two battery pack options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh. As per the company’s claim, the range of the 59 kWh battery is 557 km, while the range of the 79 kWh battery is 683 km.
Although the Mahindra BE 6 fire is a rare incident, it has started a serious discussion about the safety of electric vehicles. Now everyone’s attention is on the investigation report and the official statement of the company in this case.
