URMU Sultanpur team became divisional winner, captain Satish Yadav declared ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Man of the Tournament’
Lucknow. A three-day cricket competition was organized by Northern Railway Mazdoor Union Lucknow Division at Railway Stadium Charbagh. In which 16 teams of Lucknow division including Rae Bareli, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Bridge Workshop, Running, Medical, Electrical, Carriage and Wagon participated. Sultanpur team defeated Rae Bareli in the league match, defeated Varanasi in the semi-finals in the quarter-finals and defeated Bridge Workshop Lucknow team by 6 wickets in the final and were crowned champions of the division.

In the final match, Sultanpur won the toss and decided to defend the field first. Bridge Workshop team batted and scored 129 runs in 15 overs. In reply, Sultanpur team completed the score with 10 balls remaining. Sultanpur captain Satish Yadav was declared man of the match and man of the tournament. Lucknow Division’s Divisional Railway Manager Sunil Kumar Verma honored the winning and runner-up teams by giving them medals and trophies and boosted the morale of all the players. He congratulated the Sultanpur team and sent his best wishes.
Sultanpur branch branch minister Pankaj Dubey, branch president Brijesh Yadav, vice president and team coach Raish Ahmed, media in-charge and team manager Mithilesh Pandey, organization minister and team vice-captain Inderjit Kumar, divisional vice president youth wing Mukesh Kumar and all the officials expressed happiness over the team’s victory and congratulated all the players. On behalf of the team, Arjun Yadav, Raj Verma, Ajit Singh, Abhishek, Navneet, Harsh, Arjun RA, Shivnath and Nishant performed excellently.
