New Delhi. Voting for the second phase of West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 is underway. Amidst this, the political atmosphere has become more heated. Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made serious allegations against the central security forces. He claimed that his supporters were tortured during voting and the basic spirit of democracy was being hurt.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “Atrocities started since last night and many of our people have been arrested. They have not even spared women and children. This is contempt of court. I have never seen this kind of democracy. Trinamool Congress is winning the elections. CRPF cannot torture people like this. State police are not visible at any booth, they have taken everything under their control. The borders should be protected, but instead they are busy benefiting a political party. I have contested elections since 1984, but have never seen such atrocities before.

Mamta further said that I have been contesting elections since 1984 and this time so much atrocities are happening. They killed women, children… At Ranaghat, Kalyani, Arambag, Ghoghat, Canning, they threw out our agents. Is this a free and fair election? Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee voted at a polling booth. After voting, serious allegations have been made against the central government and security forces.

Our victory is certain, only Trinamool will win: Mamata Banerjee

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed confidence of her victory in Bhawanipur. He said that Trinamool Congress (TMC) is returning to power with an overwhelming majority. While talking to the media during voting, he gave the message of victory. The Chief Minister appealed for peaceful voting. He claimed that the public is voting in the name of development. Voting is being held for the second phase in Bengal today. All eyes are now on the results to be declared on May 4.
