The wait is over! Old pension scheme applicable to ‘these’ government employees in Maharashtra state, GR also issued

Juni Pension Yojana : An important news is coming for the government employees working in Maharashtra state government service. This news is related to the very old pension scheme of government employees.

In fact, an important government decision has recently been issued by the State Government Employees Technical and Higher Education Department of the State Government. According to the said government decision, an important decision has been taken to apply the benefits of the old pension scheme to some employees of the said department.

The Department of Technology and Higher Education has taken an important decision to apply the old pension scheme to the employees who were selected under the recruitment notification i.e. advertisement before November 1, 2005 and who took charge after November 1, 2005 i.e. joined the government service.

The GR of course government decision was issued last week. On December 22, 2025, a GR has been issued by the Department of Technology and Higher Education and today we will try to know the information related to this GR in this article.

What does the government’s GR say?

Actually on 2nd February 2024 an important GR was issued by the Finance Department of the State Govt. According to this GR, it was decided to apply the old pension scheme to the government employees in the state who were advertised before November 1, 2005 and joined the government service after this date.

Meanwhile, according to the same government decision of the Finance Department, it has been decided to apply the old pension scheme to the government employees who were working under the Technical Higher Education Department and who were advertised before November 1, 2005 and who joined the government service after this date.

As per the Government Decision dated 2/2/2025 of the Finance Department which officers/employees dt. have been appointed to the State Government service on or after November 1, 2005, but their recruitment advertisement/notification No. 1 has been issued prior to 2005,

It has been decided to give them One Time Option to implement the provisions of Maharashtra Civil Services (Retirement Pay) Rules, 1982, Maharashtra Civil Services (Gratification of Retirement Pay) Rules, 1984 and General Provident Fund and Ancillary Rules.

According to this decision, Maharashtra College Education Service, Group-A (Senior College Branch) and Maharashtra Education Service (Training Branch), Group-A under the administrative control of Higher and Technical Education Department. A number of posts were advertised before 2005

However, d. The Government has received applications/options regarding implementation of the old pension scheme of the Senior Lecturers who joined the Government service on or after 1st November, 2005. Meanwhile, the government employees who have received the application will now get the benefit of the old pension scheme as per the rules.
