The weather changed in March! Rain and strong winds wreak havoc in Delhi, storm alert in many states

New Delhi: While the scorching heat had started troubling people in the beginning of March, now the weather has surprised everyone by taking a sudden turn. Cold like conditions have started being felt again in many parts of North and West India. Due to strong winds, rain and clouds, the temperature is falling, due to which the weather has become pleasant.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of storm and rain in about 12 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi for March 22. There is also a possibility of lightning falling especially in the areas of Eastern India. Due to rain, the temperature at many places has dropped by 3 to 4 degrees below normal.

Condition of Delhi and hilly areas

Light rain and strong winds may continue in the capital Delhi. The speed of winds can reach 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature here is expected to be around 28 degrees and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 17 degrees. At the same time, the weather has changed in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand also. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in these areas along with strong winds, whose speed can be 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

Weather changed in UP-Bihar also

The effect of rain and strong winds can be seen in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. There are chances of rain in many districts including Shravasti, Gonda, Bahraich, Ayodhya, Lucknow, Jaunpur and Ghazipur. Talking about Bihar, there is a possibility of light rain in districts like Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Purnia, Katihar and Bhagalpur. This will provide relief to people from the heat.

Effect of strong winds in eastern India

Strong winds are expected in West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha and Meghalaya. Here the wind speed can reach up to 70 kilometers per hour, due to which the weather can feel even colder.

Cold and fog return in Delhi

Dense fog was seen in Delhi on Saturday, which is considered unusual for the month of March. The minimum temperature dropped to 13 degrees Celsius, which is much lower than normal. Although the temperature increased slightly during the day, the effect of cold winds remained.

Effect of western disturbance in Rajasthan

This change in weather is being seen in Rajasthan due to western disturbance. There may be light rain and thundershowers in Jodhpur, Bikaner and Shekhawati areas. Mandawa in Jhunjhunu district has recorded the highest rainfall of 18 mm in the last 24 hours.

There is continuous snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh. There is a good amount of snow in areas like Sangla, Kalpa and Keylong. At the same time, the temperature has dropped due to rain in the low-lying areas. Good rainfall has been recorded at many places including Kandaghat and Shimla.
