Actually, Vikas Dubey’s wife Richa Dubey had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court regarding this web series. The petition demanded that the release of the web series be banned as it is said to be based on the life of her husband Vikas Dubey, who was killed in an encounter by the Uttar Pradesh Police in July 2020.
At the same time, during the hearing of the case, the producer of the web series told the Delhi High Court that this web series is not based on the life of gangster Vikas Dubey. The entire story is fictional. It is not directly related to any real person or event. However, it was argued on behalf of the petitioner that earlier this series was promoted by linking it with Vikas Dubey.
Assurance to show disclaimer
The court was also told by the producer that a clear disclaimer will be shown at the beginning of every episode of the web series, mentioning that the content is completely fictional and is not based on the life of any real person. Justice Sachin Dutta took note of this statement of the producer and recorded it in his order. The court held that when the producer is making it clear that the web series is fictional and a disclaimer will also be shown, then there is no reason to stop the release at present.
