The wives of two Ludhiana MLAs died.

Ludhiana Ludhiana:The wives of two AAP MLAs from Ludhiana had to face defeat in the Municipal Corporation elections today. Meenu Parashar, wife of MLA Ashok Parashar, and Dr. Sukhchain Kaur Gogi, wife of MLA Gurpreet Gogi, lost the election. Dr. Sukhchain Gogi lost to Congress's Parminder Kaur, while Meenu Parashar lost to BJP's Poonam Ratra. Senior Congress leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu's wife also lost to AAP's Gurpreet Babbal. Leena Sharma, wife of Ashu's brother Narinder Kala, also lost to AAP's Nandini Jairath from ward number 71.

BJP's Poonam Ratra, who defeated AAP's Meenu Parashar, said her victory shows that people have lost hope in the ruling party. After defeating Sukhchain Kaur Gogi, Congress's Parminder Kaur said that people are returning to Congress because AAP has not been able to live up to people's expectations.

Meanwhile, Meenu Parashar said that he has accepted the people's decision, but will continue to work for the welfare of the people and the development of the city. Mamta Ashu, wife of Bharat Bhushan Ashu, said that she was present outside the polling booth and people were going back without casting their votes as their names were not in the voter list.
