‘The world is burning in the fire of unrest’, why did PM Modi warn humanity from Koba Tirtha?

Gandhinagar: On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big cultural gift to the country by inaugurating the newly constructed ‘Samrat Samprati Museum’ in Koba village (Gandhinagar), Gujarat. This grand museum located in Shri Mahavir Jain Worship Center is named after the glorious king of the Maurya dynasty, Samprati Samprati (224-215 BC). During this, PM Modi not only paid tribute to the great heritage of Jainism, but also described the messages of Lord Mahavir as the only solution amid the ongoing conflicts and unrest in the world.

The concept of saints and the confluence of modern India

PM Modi said in his address that it is a privilege for him to visit Koba Teerth on this holy occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. Praising the Jain saints, he said that this museum will act as a bridge to convey thousands of years of Indian heritage and timeless knowledge of Jainism to the next generation in a modern form. The Prime Minister stressed that this museum is not just a stone building, but a sacred center of Indian culture and ancient heritage. On this special occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Shanghvi were also present with him.

Emperor Samprati: Extension of non-violence from the throne

Referring to history, PM Modi said a very big thing. He told that in the era when many rulers of the world ruled by using violence as their weapon, Emperor Samprati spread the empire of ‘non-violence’ by sitting on the throne. He propagated Jain principles like Satya, Asteya and Aparigraha. The PM said that we have to learn from India’s glorious past to make governance a medium of service with a selfless spirit. He said that the flow of knowledge in India has always been free and in every era the sages and sages have further enriched it.

The fire of world unrest and the message of Mahavir

Expressing concern over today’s global situation, the Prime Minister said that the entire world is currently burning in the fire of instability and unrest. In such a situation, the legacy of this museum and the messages of Lord Mahavir are like a lifeline not only for India but for the entire humanity. He appealed that whoever comes here should spread these great teachings of Jainism to every corner of the world so that the path of peace can be paved.
