US President Donald Trump or Chinese President Xi Jinping, who does the world trust more? A survey was recently conducted to find out the answer. That’s the surprising result.
This study was conducted by an organization called ‘Pew Research Center’ in 36 countries of the world between last February and May. It turns out that most of the world trusts Xi Jinping more than Trump. But the picture is slightly different in India. Trump’s popularity in India has declined but is not over. The US president is still more popular than Xi Jinping. According to the survey, the people of 22 out of 36 countries of the world chose Xi Jinping. These 22 countries include Canada, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, France, Germany, Britain etc. Significantly, even a few years ago these countries were leaning towards America. But in recent years they have shifted towards China. For example, only 33 percent of Canadians currently trust Washington. In 2023, this number was 57 percent.
However, a total of six countries, Japan, Israel, India, South Korea, the Philippines and Poland, still trust America more than China. According to experts, trust in China is relatively low among Indians due to border disputes, Galwan conflict and long-standing security concerns surrounding China. According to international relations analysts, this survey is not just a question of personal popularity of the two leaders. Rather, it also highlights the changing diplomatic equation of the world and the strategic position of different countries.
