Theft in Kerala's Padmanabha Swamy temple, four accused including doctor arrested

Thiruvananthapuram : A case of theft has come to light in the famous Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple of Kerala. Police have arrested four people for allegedly stealing a bronze vessel from here. The police have detained the theft accused from Haryana state. The accused will be brought to Thiruvananthapuram today after which further action will be taken.

According to the information received, the vessel which was stolen from Padmanabha Swamy temple is called “Uruli” in the local language. Uruli is a traditional vessel made of bronze. It has been used for worship and rituals in this ancient temple.

A doctor is also included among the accused

Regarding the action taken in the case, the police said on Sunday that the accused have been identified. They have been taken into custody with the help of Haryana Police, although during interrogation the accused have not given much information regarding the theft incident. The surprising thing in this case is that one of the arrested accused is a doctor by profession. Not only this, he also has Australian citizenship.

Clue of thieves found from CCTV footage

According to information received from police officials, this incident of theft in the temple happened last Thursday. As soon as the temple officials realized that the utensils were missing from the temple, they immediately informed the police. After this, the police identified the accused after scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the temple for several hours. During investigation, police found that the accused were from Haryana after which they were traced from Haryana. Kerala police went to Haryana and detained the accused with the help of the local police there. After the accused are brought to Kerala today, the police will take further action in the case.
