Mythology of Bijethua Dham
According to religious belief, the history of Bijethua Dham is related to the Ramayana period. When Lakshman had become unconscious after being hit by the arrows of demons, Hanuman ji had gone to get Sanjeevani herb for him. At the same time, Ravana had sent the demon Kalanemi to stop Hanuman ji so that he could stop him and Lakshman ji could not get Sanjeevani. Kalnemi tried to stop Hanuman ji by assuming the form of a sage but Hanuman ji understood that he was not a sage but a demon. After this Hanuman ji killed Kalanemi.
It is said that the place where Hanuman ji stayed for some time after killing Kalanemi is today famous as Bijethua Dham. Devotees circumambulate the sanctum sanctorum of the temple during darshan. Here people ring bells to fulfill their wishes and when their wishes are fulfilled they come back and recite Hanuman and donate as per their devotion.
