There is increased stir in Karnataka Congress, MLA raised demand for change of CM
Tezzbuzz Desk – Once again the stir regarding change of leadership has intensified in Karnataka politics. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Speculations about a possible change among Shivkumar have sparked a new discussion in the Congress camp.
Demand for change of leadership raised
On Sunday, Congress MLA HA Iqbal Hussain openly talked about change in leadership. He says that the party should consider change from the electoral point of view. He said that the high command should quickly end the ongoing uncertainty on this issue, as MLAs and ministers want clarity.
However, the pro-Siddaramaiah camp has been consistently rejecting speculations of any change in the CM post. On the other hand, the pro-Shivakumar camp believes that considering the organization and the upcoming elections, new leadership should be considered.
Shivkumar on Delhi tour on 26th February
According to sources, D.K. Shivkumar has been called to Delhi to meet the party high command on 26 February. Even before this he had discussed with the central leadership. It is being told that he is in favor of calling a meeting of the legislature party by the end of February.
In this series, Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi has met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, which has given further strength to political speculations.
The challenge of balance before the high command
The party leadership also faces the challenge of keeping the caste and regional equations balanced. Political analysts believe that if Shivakumar is promoted, there may be dissatisfaction among Lingayat and minority voters supporting Siddaramaiah. At the same time, if the current arrangement continues, resentment may increase in the pro-Shivakumar Vokkaliga community and organizational structure.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has indicated that a decision will be taken on this issue after extensive discussion. Sources say that after talks, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi can also be included in this process.
