Regarding Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Mamta told women that they (central government) will take away the rights of mothers and sisters in the name of SIR. They will call police from Delhi during elections. According to Mamta, mothers and sisters, if your names are cut then you have kitchen utensils, fight against them. Don’t let your name get cut from the list. Women will come forward and fight, men will stay behind them. Mamata alleged that SIR is being made a political weapon just ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. Amit Shah is so hungry for votes that he is starting this process only two months before the elections.

Mamta also said in the rally that SIR is running in 12 states since October. The purpose of this process is to remove the name of the wrong voter and add new voters. This is happening to benefit BJP. Mamta accused the Center of sending Bengalis to detention camps by calling them Bangladeshis. He said that pro-BJP officers are being sent from Delhi, who are monitoring the District Magistrates. If anyone is taken out, we will bring back. The case of Bengal is different.

Condemnation of beating of non-veg sellers in Geeta recitation program

Mamata condemned the attack on two shopkeepers selling non-veg during the Gita recitation program held at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. He said that all the accused have been arrested, this is Bengal, not UP, such hooliganism will not be tolerated here.

Mamata accused BJP of bringing a culture of communal division in the state. She said- I do not believe in communal division, I want to walk with all religions. What is the need for a public meeting to read Geeta? Those who pray to God or Allah, do so from the heart. Religion is not meant to divide, but to unite.
