New Delhi : Domestic passenger vehicle wholesale sales rose 10.6 percent year-on-year to 417,705 units in February. In February 2025, the wholesale sales of passenger vehicles increased by 377689 units. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the increase in sales of passenger vehicles in February was mainly due to strong demand for utility vehicles. Sales of these vehicles increased by 13.5 percent to 236,957 units from 208,795 units in February 2025. Passenger car sales declined by 3.8 percent to 106,799 units from 110,966 units in the same period last year.

In the domestic market, wholesale van sales increased by 1.1 percent to 11,620 units in February 2025 compared to 11,493 units in February 2025. According to SIAM, the wholesale sales of two-wheelers increased by 35.2 percent to 18,71,406 units in February 2025 from 13,84,605 ​​units in February 2025. Wholesale sales of motorcycles increased by 30.8 percent to 10,96,537 units in February 2025 as against 8,38,250 units in the same month last year. Accordingly, scooter sales increased by 42.3 percent to 729,774 units as against 512,783 units in February 2025. Additionally, wholesale sales of three-wheelers increased by 29 percent to 74,573 units, as against 57,788 units in the same period last year.

SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon said, the industry has been well organized with a positive outlook. As sales in all three categories of passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and three-wheelers hit an all-time high in February 2026, registering a double-digit growth over February 2025.
