There was silence in Uttam Nagar before Eid, many families were forced to leave their homes due to fear: – ..

News India Live, Digital Desk: These days, the Uttam Nagar area of the country’s capital Delhi is in the grip of a strange restlessness and fear. While on one hand the preparations for Eid-ul-Fitr are visible across the country, on the other hand many Muslim families in Hastsal village of Uttam Nagar have decided to leave the area on this festival due to security reasons. Local residents say that the atmosphere here remains tense after a violent incident that took place during Holi.

What is the root of the dispute?

The controversy started on Holi day (March 4), when a water balloon thrown by an 11-year-old girl hit a woman. This small matter soon turned into a bloody conflict between two families. 26-year-old Tarun Kumar was seriously injured in this fight, who later died in the hospital. Police have so far arrested 14 people in this case and 2 minors have also been detained.

People in panic due to threats of ‘Khoon Ki Holi’

Since Tarun’s death, there has been a flood of inflammatory videos and speeches on social media. Local residents, such as 55-year-old Jameel Ahmed, say threats like playing ‘Khoon Ki Holi’ are being made by some outside elements and religious groups. Jamil says, “We have been living here for 50 years, but now our children are scared. We fear that the entire neighborhood may have to suffer the consequences of the mistakes of a few people.”

Eid migration plan

22-year-old Farzana, who lives in the area, said that although they do not want to go, it is difficult to celebrate Eid in the atmosphere of fear and insecurity. Some families have already vacated their rented houses, while many others are planning to visit their relatives for a few days during Eid. People allege that the daily protests and sloganeering have created a feeling of insecurity in their minds.

Delhi Police action and security claims

However, Delhi Police is completely rejecting these claims. Police say that they have made adequate arrangements to maintain peace in the area.

Flag marches and meetings: Police are continuously holding peace committee meetings.

Keep an eye on social media: More than 22 notices have been sent to Instagram and X to remove inflammatory posts and videos.

Heavy Security Force: Barricading has been done at every corner of Hastsal village and police force is deployed.

Keep an eye on external elements: DCP (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh has appealed to the people not to pay heed to any rumors and not to flee the area. According to the police, most of the people making inflammatory videos are from outside Delhi (UP, Bihar).
