“There were thorns in the path, but there were dreams in the eyes…”, the grand unveiling ceremony of the set of ‘Me Savitribai Jotirao Phule’ was held in grand style.

In this program, the actor who played the role of Mahatma Jotirao Phule, the creator of the series, Dr. Amol foxactress Madhurani Gokhale who played the role of Savitribai, Satish Rajwade, the business head of Star Pravah and the entire team of the serial were present. The ceremony was organized to pay tribute to Savitribai’s tenacity, struggle and vision.

This unveiling ceremony not only opened the curtain of a set, but also saw the rebirth of a brilliant revolution in the history of Maharashtra. Witnessing the struggle, sacrifice and courage of Savitribai Phule, who tirelessly sacrificed her life for women’s education, equality and social transformation, this set creates a living picture of the social reality of that time, unbearable pain and hope for a new tomorrow. Every wall, every structure and every detail gives voice to the conflict stories of that time. The thorn under Savitribai’s feet, the obstacles placed by the society and yet her determination to move forward without flinching are vividly felt in this magnificent set. The audience does not just watch a scene, but enters a time where a woman dared to light the lamp of education in the darkness of ignorance. This historical and emotive set has been realized through art director Nitin Kulkarni’s thoughtful arrangement and creativity.

Dr. Amol Kolhe said, ‘I am lucky as an actor that I got the opportunity to play different larger than life roles. Playing the character of Mahatma Jotirao Phule is a different challenge. The burning torch of thoughts is Mahatma Jotirao Phule. Mahatma Phule started questioning the system. Conveying the thoughts of such a revolutionary is a big responsibility. The relationship with Star Pravah is very special. The role that turned my life upside down was the Raja Shiv Chhatrapati serial I did with Star Pravah. After almost 17 years now, the star will be working with Pravah not only as an actor but also as a producer. I am really looking forward to this series. It is impossible to describe in words the contribution of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule towards the society. If there is anyone who inspires every woman who steps outside the threshold today, it is Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule. Therefore, portraying Savitribai’s history through a serial is a very emotional thing for me.’
